August/September news

We’re now entering the back half of the summer season, which means we’ll soon see the color of the leaves changing colors, instead of the color of the grass changing colors.

It also means that I’ll soon be back to my day-to-day tasks of covering high school sports for a local chain of weekly newspapers.

But before that happens, I’ve got a few shows lined up.

The first show is Aug. 6 at Furey’s Cafe in downtown Lowell, Mass. It will be my first trip to this resurgent New England city about an hour northwest of Boston, and I’m looking forward to bringing my music to the folks out there. Furey’s Cafe proclaims on its Web site that it makes a great hamburger, and if there is one thing I appreciate, it’s a great hamburger. Hopefully, that won’t be the only thing that’s great about playing there.

The next show is Aug. 26 at one of my favorite stomping grounds, Moon & River Cafe in Schenectady. And just like last time, I’ll be sharing the night with Hudson singer-songwriter Betsi Krisniski. She wowed the people that came to June’s show, and I’m sure she will do the same this time around. You have to see this show, if only to hear Betsi play her terrific songs. (I’m assuming that you’ve heard me play before.)

Finally, I’ll be going back to the Four Corners Luncheonette in Delmar on Sept. 10 to play another dinnertime show. The music starts at 5 p.m. and carries on till 8 p.m. If you’re in the mood for fine food and fine music, this is the time and the place to be there. I may have a hard time preventing myself from drooling onto my guitar because of all the great food that will be passing by me as I play.

In between shows, I will continue working on the Web site to make it more diverse. I’ll continue to update my blog daily, and I have my sights set on establishing a weekly podcast. If there is something else you’d like to see on this site, let me know via the comments function at the top of the page. If you wish to keep the comment private, let me know and I will make sure it doesn’t appear on the page. Otherwise, please consider what you write to be part of the public discourse on the page. It won’t appear until I approve it, and I will approve it unless you say otherwise.

As always, if you’d like to download my music, please visit the reverbnation.com store on the right side of this page. The costs are fairly reasonable, and you’ll be able to put my songs on your computers and MP3 players.

Catch you later.
